Keeper of the Ink was conceived in 2010 from a need for tattoo aftercare featuring all natural and effective ingredients. Tired of the petroleum and chemically produced products often recommended for healing tattoos, Sarah and Karen bring their knowledge and love of herbal medicine into the world of tattoo. Their combined experience as herbalists combined with a background in Āyurveda and science led to the creation of this highly effective aftercare formula. Try it today and experience the healing power for yourself!
Sarah began her plant studies in 2008 with Karen Sherwood through the ethnobotany program offered at Earthwalk Northwest. She went on to complete her B.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Washington, and is a NAMA certified Āyurvedic Practitioner. Sarah combines the science of sustainability and ecological principles with knowledge and respect for traditional and indigenous uses of plant medicine.
Karen has educated people about plants and plant medicine for over 30 years. She specializes in plant identification, ethnobotany, basic taxonomy skills, and intensive plant studies. After working for 16 years developing and teaching the wild plant curriculum at the Tracker School, Karen and her husband returned to the Northwest in 1996 to found their own wilderness skills school, Earthwalk Northwest. Karen continues to teach classes here on a weekly basis.
